Mr. Costa
I am Arthur Costa, AKA Mr.Costa (1990). Visual artist, born Viseu and currently in Lisbon.
By definition i'm a creative, which has a huge need for constant creation, putting in everything I do, the very own way of seeing the world.
I do not believe in the existence of the various arts as something individual, because, now and in our world, the arts live interrelations and multidisciplinary and therefore like to explore multiple areas including performance, installation, video, photography.
I believe that all human beings understand what art is. What separates us is less than what unites us. However, to unify us, the artist has to pick up on something and goes further, and this is art.
I have the opinion that the existence of art involves make calls, the artist's work to the observer. These connections may be made in several ways, but mainly by emotions, whether by the unusual, or grotesque, by mood or the total deconstruction of the concept or material. And then yes, begins the true relationship with the viewer - an emotional art. As a result, my work has reflected and developed the visual as it is the primary sense, however exploring other directions is also very interesting.
I like to surprise the observer and force them to think, reassess, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to look at things again with an open mind.
When I create I know I have a chance to translate what I feel in material and work. I try, try, try .. a constant search for what I want, how I want, where I want to. I put my body in an attempt to look for what I want.
