This project consists in carrying out a work taking as reference the connection between the arts and individual memory.
Mr. Costa has focused on creating a file with the most varied designs made by his mother. The interpretation of this embroidery is usually associated with the noblest feelings such as affection, love, sympathy. Mr. Costa overthrew those emotions and transformed it into something that aroused the ridiculous, the surprise, the irony, the sarcasm, even the unusual on the observer.  Mr. Costa creates sentences with subliminal reflections leading the viewer to always have a reaction and to reflect about it.
   By decontextualizing this craft, Mr. Costa gives a larger scale to the typical Portuguese handicraft, leading the viewer to a new level and raising the handicraft to a masterpiece, which were not aware of its real beauty hitherto. The cross stitch that is presented on a large-scale grid support is placed on various and unappropriated places.

It is a getting back of one of the most typical traditions in Portugal which is almost lost and returning to it the deserved contemporaneity.
   It is to bring the cross stitch to the twenty-first century.
